Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SitterBrief ("SitterBrief", "we", "us"), an OrangeLab product operated by Jianren Wen (sole proprietor), handles information when you use the app. The short version: we don't collect anything, because we can't — SitterBrief has no account and no server.

1. What SitterBrief stores, and where

SitterBrief is a fully local app. Everything you enter — pet profiles (name, species, photo, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, vet contact), house information (Wi-Fi password, trash day, daily chores, door/alarm notes), and emergency contacts — is stored only on your own device, using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage. It never leaves your phone or iPad unless you personally choose to share a generated card.

2. What we collect

Nothing. SitterBrief has no account system, no backend server, and makes no network requests. We do not collect, receive, transmit, or have access to any of the information you enter — your name, your pets' details, your house details, or your contacts' information. We have no servers to send it to even if we wanted to.

3. Sharing your handoff card

When you tap Share, SitterBrief hands your generated card to Apple's standard system share sheet (UIActivityViewController). Where the card goes from there — Messages, WeChat, AirDrop, printing, or saving as a PDF — is entirely your choice and happens through the destination app or service you pick, not through SitterBrief. We have no visibility into and no control over what happens to the card after you share it.

4. Optional local notifications

If you turn on the optional reminder ("update your handoff card before a trip"), SitterBrief schedules a standard iOS local notification on your device. This never involves any remote push service, server, or third party — it's handled entirely by iOS on your device.

5. Photos

If you choose to add a pet photo from your photo library, the image is copied into SitterBrief's local storage on your device, using Apple's standard photo picker. We never see or receive it — it's a local, on-device operation.

6. Third-party services

SitterBrief does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not integrate with any third-party services or APIs.

7. Data deletion

Because everything lives only on your device, you're always in full control. Delete a pet, house detail, or contact inside the app at any time, or uninstall SitterBrief to remove all of its data at once — there's no server-side copy to separately request deletion of.

8. Children

SitterBrief is not directed at children under 13, and since we collect no information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we ever add a feature that changes how data is handled. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
