Privacy Policy
Capture Web Block as PDF · Last updated: May 2026
This extension collects no personal data. All processing happens entirely on your device.
1. What data we collect
We collect no data whatsoever. Specifically:
- No personal information
- No browsing history
- No page content
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No cookies or tracking identifiers
2. How the extension works
When you use Capture Web Block as PDF:
- A content script is injected into the current tab to enable element selection and highlighting. This script does not read or transmit page content.
- When you export a PDF, the extension temporarily attaches a debugger to the current tab to invoke the browser's native print engine (
Page.printToPDF). The debugger is detached immediately after the PDF is generated.
- The generated PDF is saved directly to your device via the browser's download API.
- All of this happens entirely within your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
3. Third-party services
This extension does not communicate with any third-party servers or services. There are no external API calls, no analytics services, and no advertising networks.
4. Permissions used
- activeTab — to access the current tab when you click the extension icon
- scripting — to inject the selection interface into the current page
- downloads — to save the generated PDF to your computer
- storage — to remember your preferences locally
- tabs — to identify the current tab for message passing between the popup and content script
- debugger — to use the browser's native PDF print engine during export; detached immediately after use
- host permissions (<all_urls>) — so you can use the extension on any website you visit; no data from these pages is collected or transmitted
5. Data storage
Any settings you configure (e.g. default preferences) are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. This data never leaves your device and is not synced to any external server.
6. Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. We encourage you to review it periodically.
